Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old to use TennisLadder. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older.

You are responsible for providing accurate information when creating your account, including your name, skill level, and area.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including misrepresentation of skill level, repeated forfeits, harassment, or abusive behavior.

When using TennisLadder, you agree to:

• Treat other players with respect, both in chat and during matches
• Submit accurate match scores
• Show up to scheduled matches or formally cancel in advance
• Use the in-app chat only for match coordination and friendly communication

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or insult other players
• Submit false scores or manipulate rankings
• Impersonate another person
• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to access or interfere with other users' accounts
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers without our written permission

TennisLadder is a platform that connects tennis players — we do not organize, supervise, or take responsibility for the matches themselves.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• You are responsible for your own physical safety and the safety of your opponents
• You play matches at your own risk
• You confirm that you are at least 18 years old, physically fit, and capable of participating in tennis matches
• TennisLadder is not liable for any injury, property damage, or other incident occurring during or related to a match
• You are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate health and liability coverage if needed

You retain ownership of any content you submit (chat messages, feedback, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and store it solely for the purpose of operating the Service.

You are responsible for the content you submit and warrant that it does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

We strive to keep the Service available at all times, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, or causes beyond our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

TennisLadder is currently free to use. We may introduce paid features or subscription tiers in the future. Any pricing changes will be communicated clearly in advance, and you'll have the option to accept the new terms or stop using the Service.

The TennisLadder name, logo, app design, and all related materials are our intellectual property. You may not use them without our written permission, except for personal, non-commercial reference.

You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account (see our Privacy Policy for details).

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the Service will be error-free, secure, or always available.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TennisLadder and its operator shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, revenue, or profits
• Damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the Service
• Damages resulting from any interaction with another user, including during matches

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed fifty US dollars ($50) or the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TennisLadder and its operator from any claim, loss, or damage (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your use of the Service, or your interactions with other users.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Effective date" above and, for significant changes, notify users through the app or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the new Terms.
